The Fock Diack Society 霍 氏 旅 馆 which means the home of the Fock family groups all Chinese who belongs to the Fock family. In Mauritius as well as around the world, in the traditional Chinese family there are many associations that groups members of the same family. The Fock family also called HUO in Mandarin is one of the 508 Chinese families or clans. It has a very ancient origin and was founded more than 3000 years. According to historical details, in the year 1122 B.C, Prince Wa Wang accedes to the throne in China after having vanquished the last king of the Shang dynasty. Following the feudal system as was practiced at that time, he created 75 palaces and donated same as a special privilege to his relatives who helped him in his conquest of power. Thus he gave to his youngest brother Sock Chu the region of Fock Shan which means the Fock Mountain). The Fock families who settled in Mauritius came from the districts Shun Tack and Nam Hoi of the Kwan Tong province in the South of China.

Founded in 1884
In1884, the Fock family's home was inaugurated in
the same building that is now Ollier Plaza which
was inaugurated officially on 01st March 2015.
